“The relief (for taxpayers) will not be immediate at all. It will be over time, and the net effect on the homeowner will be less advantageous to them than it will be a tremendous problem financially and a burden to the school districts and the entities that receive the property tax.” - Mike Simpson of the projected impact of State Question 847

Attorney General Gentner Drummond has dropped a lawsuit against a state board after it rejected a proposed Jewish charter school for the second time.
Drummond dismissed his case Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court without prejudice, meaning it could be filed again.
The lawsuit accused the Statewide Charter School Board of deliberately rigging its March 9 vote to reject the Jewish charter school solely because of its religious character.
